A bright ball of fire could be seen on November 28 on the coast of Cádiz (southwest of the Iberian Peninsula) at 22h39 UT.
This phenomenon has been recorded by the detectors that the SMART Project operates in the Calar Alto (Almería), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), La Hita (Toledo), Madrid, Seville and Huelva observatories.
Likewise, two external surveillance cameras from the Calar Alto Observatory in Almería were also able to record this event.
As usual, Professor José María Madiedo (Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía IAA-CSIC) has carried out the preliminary analysis of this object and his conclusions have been as follows:
- Event type: Cometary.
- Estimated Speed: 72.000 km/h.
- Initial altitude: 90 km
- Final altitude: 46 km

Calar Alto (CAHA) fireball detection station, together with the one at the Observatory of Sierra Nevada (IAA-CSIC) and others placed at different locations in Spain, are part of the S.M.A.R.T. project led by Professor José María Madiedo (IAA) to track that kind of objects. Specifically, Calar Alto (CAHA) station and the one at Sierra Nevada (IAA-CSIC) constitute a collaboration agreement between the IAA researcher José María Madiedo and both institutions.
